Boy Reading Book
Working with Ms Stacy has truly been a blessing for my son Joshua, 10yo. By the 3rd grade Joshua had been to 4 different schools, and seen multiple therapists and specialists for dyslexia. To say the least, he was beyond frustrated. I knew from my initial phone call with Ms Stacy, things were going to different. She listened to our story, and immediately connected with us. For the first time, I felt heard and seen. As a mom, with a full time career and mulitiple children, her online classes fit perfectly with our busy schedule. Her bubbly personality and warm smile immediately connected with Josh. Working with the tools Ms Stacy gave him, Joshua was able to build his confidence and self esteem when it came to reading. We will be forever grateful for her help and support!

Stacy is a wonderful teacher with a warm heart. My son, Michael, enjoyed her lessons and learned so much! She has experience with multi-sensory, structured approaches that helped him build essential literacy skills, improve his confidence, and develop strategies he continues to use. Michael greatly benefited from her individualized support. Stacy also took the time to discuss his needs and reassure me as well throughout the year. We trust her and would recommend her to anyone.

Stacy Clark gets IT! She worked with my son for over 2 years and tailored her techniques to meet his needs.  Her hands-on approach helped my son reach his reading goals.  Stacy is patient and positive but also offers a structured learning environment to help Dyslexic kids thrive.  Stacy also assisted me in obtaining a 504 for my son's needs at school!  She's the BEST!

I was taught in Academic Language Therapy (ALT) by Ms. Clark for three years and found it to help me not only in school but in life. I was diagnosed with profound dyslexia when I was in preschool and started ALT when I was in kindergarten. This early intervention was very vital to my success in learning how to read and write. The traditional school did not teach me the way I learn and there are many striking differences between the two ways of teaching. I found my experience with ALT to be more fun, goal-oriented, multisensory, and a thorough program of teaching reading and writing. One of my favorite parts of ALT is how you move through the 10 goals and I get to visually see it and move it. I remember loving to move my clip down the session schedule and seeing my progress which motivated me. When learning new letter, words, or concepts I would use all my senses to learn and also discovered a lot of the concepts on my own by the way Ms. Clark guided her questions. It meant more to me because I figured out the "why" for a lot of the concepts. I would learn the letters or concepts by feeling, saying and hearing. We would “skywrite” to connect muscle memory to the sound and visual name of the letter or concept. A lot of the spelling and grammar rules stuck with me because it was often taught in a story or unique way where my brain easily retained it. I didn't have to memorize. I found all the decks we used for letters, sound to symbols, suffixes, prefixes and many more were helpful for me learning how to read because of the repetitions done in each session during that part of our session schedule. This helped me feel confident because we would add more gradually and build systematically creating a strong foundation for learning how to read, spell and write. After three years of ALT, I started at a new school where they used Wilson. While I found it helpful, I did not find it as thorough as ALT. When learning a new word I felt like I was learning in only one sensory way, not in a multisensory way. Being profoundly dyslexic, I feel ALT was a better way for me on learning how to read and write. Today, I’m a straight-A student, much in part of my work with Academic Language Therapy. I’m grateful for the program and how it taught me the way I learn.

When my son's school ignored that he had a problem with reading,( he was reading 2 grades below his class) I sought private help. Stacy was recommended to me by another professional. On our first appointment she knew after a few minutes what my son needed. She explained her process and how he would benefit from it. He enjoyed his sessions, actually looked forward to them. Not only did he learn, it also improved his confidence in school. Stacy is very knowledgeable in her field. We need more like her because dyslexia is often misdiagnosed and is forever.

If you are a parent of a neurodivergent child who struggles with learning differences, you understand the emotional challenges involved in finding the right support. It can be incredibly difficult to navigate the options and ensure your child receives the tailored assistance they need to thrive.

After trying various approaches and feeling a sense of helplessness, our school recommended Stack Clark. From our very first conversation, I felt an immense sense of relief. As a mother of two children with dyslexia herself, Ms. Clark immediately understood my concerns about my son falling behind. Her empathetic and knowledgeable guidance helped put my mind at ease about his future academic and personal development.

We spent two and a half years in weekly sessions with Ms. Clark, and the difference this made for my son and our family is immeasurable. She provided essential support, including insightful book recommendations that helped my husband and me truly understand dyslexia, guidance on necessary school accommodation requests, and invaluable assistance with college accommodation documentation. Most crucially, she taught my son the value of self-advocacy, empowering him to communicate his needs effectively.

While there is no "cure" for his learning disorder, my son is now much more prepared for his future, having gained the necessary tools and strategies he never learned in general education. He approaches challenges with confidence and a clear understanding of how to leverage his strengths. My only regret is not having started with Ms. Clark sooner; the earlier intervention would have made an even greater impact.

Based on our profoundly positive experience, I wholeheartedly and highly recommend her services to any family seeking compassionate and effective support for their neurodivergent child.

"As he ventures out into the big old world today for an interview I can't help but have you on my mind! Thank you again for all the love, compassion and confidence you gave to my boy. You will never know how much you impacted his life."

I was diagnosed with profound dyslexia late in the first grade, but my family had suspicions in pre-school. I, on the other hand, just thought I was dumb and less than when compared to my peers. When I first heard the word dyslexia, not only did it sound like some sort of disease or creature growing inside me, but it was also attached to the fact the school I was attending wanted to hold me back and repeat first grade. As a 7-year-old who already thought I was dumb this only lowered my self-esteem more. I started ALT and Semple Math tutoring with Ms. Clark shortly after. As I reflect on my time with her 19 years later, I can wholeheartedly say that what I have learned with her enabled me to earn my high school diploma and continue my education into college. Not only am I excelling academically, but I have also already started living my dream and finding success in a career in videography and filmmaking. None of this would have been possible without my time with Ms. Clark and her instruction. She not only taught me the academic background needed to be successful in a way that I was able to understand, but she also encouraged me to follow my strengths and passions because that is how I would be successful.
